• A 50% non-refundable payment is due upon signing of contract

Where is Whistling Wren Farm?

The farm is located near Keedysville, MD in Washington County, MD
• 60 miles from downtown Baltimore and Washington D.C.
• 35 miles from Leesburg, VA
• 15 miles from Frederick or Hagerstown, MD


Can we tour the venue?

We would love to show you around! Visiting Whistling Wren Farm is by appointment only. Please call or send us an email to schedule a tour.


What are the event hours?

• 12 hour access to the venue
• Guests must be off property by 10:00 p.m. to allow 1 hour of clean-up


What locations do you have for photos?

The barn sits on 35 acres with a variety of landscapes: open pastures, crop fields, small stream, pond and mountain views.

What are your catering policies?

• Full service licensed & insured caterers are required
• No BYOB or self-catering permitted
• Caterers are responsible for all trash removal


Is alcohol permitted?

Yes, we require a caterer or bartending service that is TAM/TIPS certified. We request that drinks be kept to wine, beer, champagne and mixed drinks (no liquor shots). No BYOB is permitted.

Are there sound restrictions?

Yes, we help monitor the decibel levels associated with your event to be courteous to our neighbors.

Am I allowed to decorate?

Yes! We look forward to working together with you and your wedding planner to create a look that you love. We ask that you take the following into account in order to protect the barn for future couples:

• No straw or hay bales allowed
• No nailing, taping, or pinning into any wood surfaces
• No glitter, confetti, or bird seed
• No open flame candles (battery operated are permitted)


Is there on-site lodging?

We are happy to recommend several nearby hotels and B&B’s for you and your guests.


Is the venue handicap accessible?

Yes, we have a designated paver handicap parking lot and walkways.


Do you have more than one wedding/event per day?

We focus on you and only host 1 event per day.


Do you have designated parking?

Our venue is situated on 35 acres. In order to preserve the environment and minimize our impact, we utilize a gravel drive and parking pad to minimize the impact on the environment. The venue does have dedicated handicap parking on an installed paver pad.

What can out-of-town guests do?

There is so much to see & do near the venue
• Visit Harpers Ferry & Antietam National Parks
• White water rafting, canoeing or tubing
• Hiking & Biking
• Local vineyards, breweries & distilleries


Do you host weddings on holidays?

Yes, we do, our belief is every day is a holiday here at the farm, so we don’t charge extra.


Can we bring our own food & alcohol?

We require licensed and certified caterers & bar service. No BYOB or self-catering is permitted.


Do I need to hire a wedding coordinator?

At Whistling Wren Farm we require a day-of coordinator to ensure that your day runs smoothly.


Will venue management be on site?

Always! We are a family owned & operated business, so we are present to make sure the venue is in perfect working order.


Is day-of insurance required?

Yes, we require a one day Special Event Liability and Property Damage Insurance policy.


Do you hold dates?

Your date will be officially held when both parties have signed the contract and your 1st payment has been received.


Are real candles or fireworks permitted?

Our barn is an entirely restored wooden structure and per the State of Maryland Fire Code we are not permitted to have open-flame candles, fireworks or sparklers. Battery operated candles are permitted.


Does the barn have AC or heat?

Though we do not have AC or heat, the barn was thoughtfully restored with windows and doors to ensure adequate cross ventilation. There are also ceiling fans in the barn to help with the same purpose.


Are there hotels/B&B’s nearby?

Yes, we are conveniently located near great B&B’s and 20 minutes or less from brand name hotel services. Just let us know and we’ll be happy to provide you with a list.


Can we include pets?

We love pets as much as you! If you desire to include your fur baby, we can provide you with a company that will handle all logistics.


What is the back-up weather plan?

“Rain, Rain Go Away, Come Again Another Day!” Our barn and adjoining walkways will keep you dry. Outdoor tents are an option; we will provide a list of rental companies that can provide this service at your cost.
