Who We Are

Owner Kelly Drosdak has called Whistling Wren Farm home for 50 years. Nestled between South Mountain and Elk Ridge, the 35 acres of open fields were also home to many animal friends during her childhood. From show horses to a herd of black angus cattle and her beloved pig, “Uncy”, Kelly made lasting memories caring for all.

When Kelly and her Husband, Lee were gifted the farm, they not only wanted to preserve its beauty, but continue its legacy. The restoration of the 1857 bank barn weaves a tapestry of old and new to create a truly unique venue.

What We Do

Whistling Wren Farm can accommodate weddings, vow renewals, corporate functions and group gatherings. The warmth of the barn is complimented by the farm’s privacy, creating an atmosphere of “getting away from it all” while still close to Washington D.C. and Baltimore.

The Barn at Whistling Wren Farm is ideally situated for history buffs, outdoor enthusiasts and anyone looking for modern country charm. The serenity of Antietam National Battlefield, the beauty of the Appalachian Trail or the excitement of whitewater rafting on the Shenandoah River are all for the taking, less than 15 minutes from the farm.

What Makes Whistling Wren Unique

The legacy of Whistling Wren Farm is the love of family, namely Kelly Drosdak’s mother Evelyn Flory. Known for her abundant kindness and compassion, Kelly and Lee work hard to make sure this is felt from the moment guests arrive. Evelyn loved to host family for celebrations, and the Whistling Wren Family wants to continue her tradition for others to enjoy.

The story of how the farm was named can also be attributed to Evelyn. As Kelly was mulling over ideas on an early spring day, a small wren landed at her feet. Though it’s easy to hear a wren singing, they’re often harder to interact with because they are constantly on-the-go. This wren sent a message from Evelyn – the inspiration, Whistling Wren Farm.
